Begun
in 1985, Speckled Bird Rise first appeared
as a small facility in Chelsea, Alabama,
covering 5 acres with one 15 stall barn.
Through determination, hard work and a
fair amount of good fortune, it has grown
to much more. Now located in Leeds, AL,
it spans over 20 acres with 2 barns, an
instruction ring and a large show ring.
The
Rise, as it is now known, specializes
in intensive instructional programs. Riders,
through a methodical educational process,
are able to develop riding skills enabling
them to train their own horse to the riders
level. Emphasis is placed on rider awareness
of self and the horses body, motion, and
mind. Stable management skills and strict
safety begin the equestrian on the road
to satisfying horsemanship. |
Teaching since her teens, Jeanne has
become one of the most recognized names
in equestrian circles here in Alabama.
She is an expert in various disciplines
and has taught around the southeast as
well as other countries - Morocco, Africa
being just one.

Our
structured system of instruction is designed
to be supplemented with demonstrations,
videos, books and written reference sources
as well as mounted horsemanship and un-mounted
stable management instruction. The commitment
of "The Rise" is to educate
each equestrian with progressive levels
of difficulty as rapidly as the rider's
talent and commitment will allow, while
maintaining the highest level of safety
possible in the sport.
"The
Rise" instructors believe that in
schooling and training a horse for both
the non-competitive rider and show rider
we promote the pride in personal accomplishment
and a good work ethic for future success
in life.
"The
Rise" specializes in intensive preparation
for showing through the stabilization
of the horse's frame, with emphasis on
the rider's awareness of their self and
their horse's body and motion. Through
a center balanced hunt seat and elementary
dressage movements, we develop skills
for the equestrian who trains their own
horse. |
